30 Days to Live
What would happen if one day while you are at the doctor he or she lays a big bomb on you? You only have thirty days to live! What would you decide to do with those thirty days? It’s hard to say what would be running through my mind. However when I think about it now a few sure things are brought to the surface.
I would need one day of sadness. In this day I would mourn the tragic twist of events and accept the reality that faces me. It is important to spend some time on forgiving and finding inner peace within my self and my past decisions. I would then start upon my last journey with a few pleasures on the way. Everyday I will eat at a different restaurant. Every meal will be different, except I would have my friend Mike’s lasagna at least twice.
While enjoying the many different restaurants I will be traveling in the footsteps of where my father has been. The first and most important footstep would be making my way to the Ganges River in India. Followed by Rome, Madrid, Brussels, Amsterdam, where ever time allows. I would contact anyone who has left a lasting impression on me and my life. If I could not see all of them I would be comforted by a conversation.
I would have one final request. I would like to spend my last day in a field full of daisies with the sun shining bright. In this field I would desire a creek and a tree with a tire swing. I would spend my final hours listening to music that relaxes my soul while finishing one of my favorite books. I would see my family one last time and finally I would fall asleep in a hammock in the meadow. I will not fret anymore I will drift off with acceptance.

Gabi I like your essay, not only because you chose the different topic, but because you put a lot of thought into it.

I thought Gabi’s essay on dying was well written and conveyed her thoughts and feelings effectively. She was descriptive enough to where I could see her lying in a field, reading and listening to her favorite music while she contemplates her life. Always a pleasure Gabi.

I thought your essay was a little short, but well written. I especially liked your closing paragraph. You make it sound so peaceful, and do a great job of creating a picture in the readers mind.
