Gas prices have sky rocketed and they keep giving us excuses, such as oil is over 100 dollars per barrel to me this is a lie. The price they are telling us is OPEC’s price and that is roughly about ten percent of our national average give or take, the EPA says we depend about twenty percent on foreign oil so why is it so expensive? Truth is that most companies such as Exxon own their own pumps and refineries it costs them very little to create gasoline. They supply our country with 80% and they blame it on the 20% which is foreign, something keeps setting off a red flag. Last year they admitted to making Billions of dollars in profit and claimed that they still were not making enough. That is nothing but greed because they are producing the same product that they have for years, and there is no oil shortage they admitted so what’s causing the prices to go through the roof? Also another red flag is diesel prices, diesel is a byproduct of gasoline it is basically what’s left over it cost less to make it than it does to make gasoline and yet its seventy cents higher than regular gas. All I believe it is the gas companies know that they have a product that everyone uses and depends on. To put this in proportion if all the truckers on the road banded together and didn’t drive for one day or country would shut down and our economy would stop for a day. That’s how much of an effect gas prices put on us. They are the reason we are in a recession not the war or President Bush, its all about gas companies. I am sick of their monopolization of the market and I know that’s what it is because bio diesel costs 95 cents per gallon where Road Diesel costs 3.75 dollars per gallon and what’s bad is Bio Diesel runs better and is more efficient than the diesel you buy at the pumps. I feel that they are greedy son of a guns who felt that their wallets aren’t quite big enough but wonder how their pants keep falling down.
